Formulating and clarifying the research topic

I am reading a book, "Research Methods for Business Students".
It is a useful book to my management project.
In chapter 2, we need to know what is the research topic.
There are some key points.

1. You need to check the assessment criteria for your project and ensure that your choice of topic will enable you to meet these criteria.

2. The research topic must be something you are capable of understanding and one that excites your imagination.

3. It is important the issues within the research are capable of being linked to theory.

4. Your topic will have a symmetry of potential outcomes: taht is, your results will be of similar value whatever you find out.

5. It is important to consider your career goals.
